If you wish to use RTX Platform as your Traffic Source, we will show you exactly how to track your campaigns with the help of RedTrack.
Step 1. Adding RTX Platform as a Traffic Source in RedTrack
To add RTX Platform to RedTrack open the Sources tab and click New. Choose RTX Platform from the catalogue and press Add. RTX Platform postback URL and all the available macros will be automatically added to the Source.
Note: pay attention to the REPLACE parameters - since they are unique for each RTX Platform Campaign, you will need to add them manually or copy from your Campaign information in RTX Platform.
Step 2. Setting Up Postback to pass conversions to RTX Platform
Now, it is time to make sure that conversions get passed to your Traffic Source. Log into your RTX Platform account. When you create a Pops or Push campaign on RTX Platform, you will see a section titled “Pixels & Tracking” at the bottom of the Campaign Settings page.
If you already have a pixel created for the conversion event type applicable to this campaign (i.e. Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Pageview, etc.), you can select it from the drop-down menu next to “Pixel Assignment.” If you see a green circle with a white checkmark next to your pixel, the pixel has fired a conversion to RTX Platform before. If you see a yellow circle, the pixel has never fired a conversion to RTX Platform.
If you do not have a pixel yet that can be applied to this campaign's event type, you will need to create one using the following steps:
- From the “Pixel Assignment” drop-down, click Create New Pixel.
Name your Pixel and choose the action type which you wish to track (Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Sign-Up, Pageview, or Other)
Out of all pixel types, choose "Server to Server"
Copy the pixel link to keyboard. It will need to be modified in order to be used in RedTrack.
Eg. In our case the link looks as follows:
To make it work in RedTrack, please replace the last token with {ref_id}, so the final URL will look like this:
https://cn.rtclx.com/conv/?v=ZTZmNDJkNzc5NzI1MmI0ZWE2MjVmMTJkYjNhOTI2MzA6Mjg4MTM%3D&p=3696&r=&b={ref_id}
NOTE: RTX Platform provides separate Postback links for each Campaign, so you will need to copy a unique URL for each new Campaign you create in RTX Platform following this instruction, and paste it to your RedTrack Campaign.
Step 3. Starting a Campaign in RedTrack
Now that we have our Traffic Source in place, it is time to set up a new campaign. In RedTrack, go to the Campaigns tab and click New.
Submit all the relevant details, such as your desired Campaign Name, Landing Page and the offer(s) associated with this campaign. Choose RTX Platform as Traffic Source and click Save.
Your Campaign URL will be generated automatically. You may remove the macros you don't wish to use. The only obligatory parameter for conversion tracking is ref_id.
DO NOT forget to edit the Postback URL with you unique link, as shown in the example:
Step 4. Launching a campaign in RTX Platform
Upon saving a Campaign in RedTrack, a Click URL will be automatically generated, which will already include tracking parameters used by RTX Platform. Copy it to clipboard and return to your RTX Platform account.
During Step 3 "Create your Creative" you will be able to insert the Click URL from RedTrack to set up the tracking:
Hope this guide improves your experience and allows you to make the most out of your offers! Happy tracking!
